IRIS Scheme Manager
Summary
The IRIS Scheme Manager is an independent organization appointed by the Scheme Owner to develop, maintain and implement IRIS Conformity Monitoring and Integrity Program in accordance with the requirements of the system.
Broadly, the Scheme Manager is tasked with monitoring and approvement of Audit Companies and auditors. The IRIS Scheme Manager is Social Accountability Accreditation Services (SAAS), a division of SAI.
About SAAS
SAAS supports social responsibility and accountability by ensuring the implementation of credible systems designed to protect people and their communities. As recognition that audit programs must be of high quality, SAAS evaluates and accredits auditing organizations to assure they are qualified to hold their clients accountable to social standards.
SAAS currently works with a number of initiatives in this or similar capacities including the social standard system it was originally created to monitor, SA8000.
